- 1 ½ cups roasted peanuts
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk chocolate chunks
- 1 teaspoon shortening

Fill a paper bag halfway with popcorn and peanuts. Place aside.
Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt in a microwave-safe bowl. 4 minutes in the microwave, or until bubbling Mix in the baking soda. Shake the bag to coat the popcorn mixture.
Place the bag in the microwave and roll down the sides. Heat for 2 minutes, stirring three times. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets to cool.
Combine chocolate and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 90 seconds, swirling once until completely melted. Pour over the popcorn mixture. Allow cooling before serving.
